Educator Effectiveness

We have become an expert in teacher and school implementation of programs and consider program evaluation and teacher evaluation two sides of the same coin. With the current national focus on educator evaluations, data on teacher effectiveness are becoming more readily available; our proficiency in capturing and coding video provides a strong basis for continuous improvement of methodologies. This builds on our expertise in using the organizational levels above the student outcomes that explain the impact of programs—measuring teacher practices, grade-level-team and departmental collaboration, analysis of mediators, and using data on program implementation to refine the measure of impact.

Our team is proficient with data collection from the field, including video capture in classrooms. This includes state of the art digital video and sound equipment, a secure cloud-based video service (using Kaltura corp.kaltura.com), and web-based software for coding and establishing inter-rater reliability (see our Observation Engineā„¢ ). We have collected hundreds of hours of classroom video and provided tools for viewing and coding by researchers.
